July 8, 2010 - On Saturday, July 10, 2010, from 11:00am - 5:00pm, the DuSable Museum of African American History, 740 East 56th Place, Chicago, Illinois will present Black Panthers: Film Series - Part II.

The event will feature the following films:

■Back Panther Party Origins (120 minutes)


■The Murder of Fred Hampton (88 minutes)

■Fred Hampton in His Own Words (30 minutes )

■Legacy of Torture – The San Francisco 8 (28 minutes)

■American Gangster Hoover & Cointellpro (42 minutes)

An Evening With Rae: A Meet, Greet, & Tweet


July 8, 2010 - You are cordially invited to An Evening With Rae: Meet, Greet, and Tweet, hosted by Emmy Award winning AIDS Activist Rae Lewis-Thornton. Thursday, July 15th, from 6:00pm - 9:00pm, Rae will present her first event "An Evening with Rae: A Meet, Greet & Tweet" at Encore Liquid Lounge, 171 West Randolph, Chicago, Illinois. The event is free, with a suggested $5.00 donation.


Dubbed "A Social Media Event, For A Socially Conscious Cause, “An Evening with Rae” will be the official celebration for the launch of Rae’s blog: A Diva Living With AIDS and The PROTECTED Project™. The PROTECTED Project created by Rae Lewis-Thornton, was designed to bring attention to HIV/AIDS and promote prevention through personal responsibility. PROTECTED also emphasizes open communication among sexual partners to change the course of this disease.


An Evening With Rae: Meet, Greet & Tweet is a chance to show your support around HIV/AIDS and the work of RLT. Join RLT as she takes HIV/AIDS education and a message of prevention through personal responsibility to the World Wide Web, Twitter & Facebook.
